Making a blanket - 19th century
This method of making blankets developed with the introduction of power looms to the blanket factories in the 1860s, and only ceased entirely in Witney when Walker's Crofts Mill closed in 1980. It was captured on film in a series of photographs taken by the Oxford photographer Henry Taunt at Early's mills in 1898.
