'Springfield'
Situation On the west side of Woodgreen, Witney.
History 'Springfield' on Woodgreen was erected opposite 'Woodlands' as
another home for the blanket making family of Early. James
Vanner Early had it built in 1887 when his fifth child was
expected and his first house had become too small. Along with
'Woodlands' and Newland House, the Earlys frequently used this
house used for entertaining important clients who came to Witney
to place orders for blankets [1].
