Keith Crawford
Keith is related to the Early family. He read engineering at
Cambridge and joined the firm of Early and Marriott (Witney) Ltd
full time in 1976, becoming particularly involved with their
needle-punch product development. Amongst other things he went
to work for Hugh Chatham in North Carolina, the inventor of the
revolutionary Fiberweaving machines that were introduced to
Witney blanket making in the 1960s.
Keith started his working life at Mount Mill. He recalls that
the staff there felt they were slightly different to those at
Witney Mill because they had been tasked with introducing the
new process of Fiberweaving to Witney.
